CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nA Limited Existing System<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nHaving recently adopted the 2013 Danielson Framework, Mundelein Elementary School District 75 was using a homegrown system of Google Drive folders, docs, and sheets to support its process. District leaders had wanted to ensure that all four schools were using the same protocols to share and receive feedback with consistency and fidelity, but this proved extremely challenging with the fragmented, decentralized system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was nearly impossible to manage the evaluation process this way,\u201d said Dr. Sarah Cacciatore, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. \u201cWhen I started in this role, I immediately noticed the small inconsistencies of the process. When you\u2019re relying on a Google doc template, there\u2019s more freedom to tweak things which led to small language changes to the rubric.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As an example, Dr. Cacciatore noted that the rubric metric \u201careas of growth\u201d might be changed to \u201careas for improvement.\u201d \u201cWhile the tenor is roughly the same, it\u2019s not the same meaning,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
